Rivalry Week 2018
This collection of stories covered a week in which we played our rival, Oviedo, in four sporting events, including varsity football game, the Hometown Showdown. I spearheaded the team that worked on these stories. One of the stories I wrote myself, I linked a video to each. The first was a promo I created in collaboration with Oviedo student Nevada Cullen, and the second was a live stream of the game I provided commentary for. The coverage also spread to our Instagram page. The package won a Best of the Best in the 2018 FSPA fall contests.
Wrestling Senior Night
Last year, I spearheaded a collaboration with TV student Kali Jobs as she, Noah Kemper and I covered the wrestling team's senior night meet against Oviedo. I was in charge of the story and gathering the statistics to be placed in the video. Kali was in charge of shooting the footage, and Noah took photos. Both Kali and I took part in editing the footage, and the complete multimedia package earned us a Best of the Best for the Quick Turn Multimedia Coverage category.
Storify
Before Storify shut down in May 2018, I used it to create supplements to my stories. It made it easy to attach Live Tweets of sporting events to stories about the same event. We also had an entire story that was just a Storify covering local events during Hurricane Irma. It's unfortunate the service was shut down, but it helped me realize some of the ability of multimedia.
